Time is running out… read about the threats to our wildlife, and what you can do to help!

Around the world every day hundreds of species of animals are becoming endangered, and many more are likely to become extinct in the wild unless we do something to help them.

This app focuses on 150 of the animals listed on the IUCN Red List, the internationally recognized list of the world’s most endangered species.

The animals included have been selected to give an overview of the wide range of species whose future survival is now in doubt—from the iconic African elephant, to the little-known axolotl.

Each card highlights the threats facing a particular animal, and outlines how varied these threats are—from habitat loss and global warming, to pollution and civil war.

Web-links to conservation groups and projects around the world will help you to learn more about your favorite animal, and provide you with information about what you can do to help.

Written by experienced children’s authors with a specialist knowledge and interest in natural history.

EACH CARD INCLUDES:
• A descriptive profile of the animal, its habitat, characteristics, life span, how many left in the wild and Red List status.
• Information about the main threats to its future, and what is being done internationally to help endangered species.
• Web-links to specific organizations and projects that are helping that animal.
• “Did you know?” facts for each animal.

ADDITIONAL FEATURES:
• The cards are listed alphabetically, by animal type and by Red List status
• Each animal name is recorded for help with pronunciation
• A powerful search engine for instant access to the topics you want to read about
• Fantastic photographs with ability to zoom in to see the details
• Maps of the world and habitats
• Easy-to-use, comprehensive glossary

Latest reviews of Endangered Animals app for iPhone and iPad

Really nice -- great photos, easy to use, good for kids
My nieces and nephews always want to play with my iPhone, and I downloaded this app to share with them. Its a really nice app. Its a "flash card" format -- a big picture on the front and details about the animal on the back. The animal photos are great; you can zoom in on them with the "pinch" action. (Check out the great white shark and American black bear photos.) Lots of nice interactive features too, like audio pronunciations of the animal names and the ability to bookmark your favorite cards/animals.
Great teaching tool!
This app offers readers a fantastic insight into the animals that are on the endangered species list. And, specific information is given on each animal. Great pictures and knowledge base for readers!
More info than other apps
This app contains more information about Endangered Animals than other apps do, but the price tag is a bit higher as well. Some of the links where you are invited to obtain more information about an animal are dead, and should be revisited. Also, the app crashes when you attempt to leave voice notes or written notes about an animal. This needs to get fixed to support the higher price tag.
